Description
Where Moroccan Craft Meets Daily Function
Most hook rails are purely functional — a bar, some hooks, a wall fixing. This Moroccan brass hook rail is something else entirely. The solid brass rail is set with hand-crafted geometric inlay panels — diamond patterns in your choice of color — bordered by a traditional rope-twist edge that references centuries of Moroccan decorative metalwork. The ball-tip hooks project from the rail at a generous angle, holding towels, coats, bags, and robes with equal ease.
The result is a piece of wall-mounted functional art that happens to be extraordinarily useful. It belongs in a bathroom above a towel stack, in an entryway beside the front door, in a mudroom where bags and coats accumulate, or in a dressing room where daily ritual deserves a beautiful backdrop. Wherever it goes, it becomes the most noticed detail in the room.
The Inlay — Four Colors, Four Personalities
The decorative panels between the hooks are set with geometric diamond-pattern inlays, available in four color options — each shown in our product photography in a different interior context:
Pink inlay (Image 1): Photographed against multicolored terrazzo tile in a pastel bathroom — playful, warm, and completely at home in a maximalist or eclectic interior. The pink diamonds against brass read as vintage European with a Moroccan soul.
Green inlay (Image 2): Photographed on a terracotta tadelakt wall in a Moroccan-inspired entryway — the most traditional color choice. Malachite green against brass is one of the great North African material combinations, used in Moroccan crafts for centuries.
Yellow inlay (Image 3): Photographed against deep navy shiplap in a mudroom — the most striking contrast. Warm yellow diamonds against aged brass against navy blue is a combination that reads as both nautical and Moroccan simultaneously.
Black and white inlay (Image 4): Photographed against white marble — the most versatile and graphic option. Black and white geometric inlay against brass works in contemporary, Moroccan, art deco, and maximalist interiors equally well.

The Craft — What Goes Into Each Rail
Every hook rail is made by hand in our Marrakesh workshop. The brass rail is cast in solid brass, then the rope-twist border is worked around the inlay panels by hand. The inlay panels themselves are set individually — each diamond piece placed and secured within the brass frame. The ball-tip hooks are turned on a traditional lathe and pressed into the rail. The end brackets are drilled for wall fixings and the entire piece is hand-polished before shipping.
The brass is left unlacquered — the same living finish as every other piece in our collection. It arrives bright and golden, and develops a warm amber patina over months and years of daily use. The inlay panels do not tarnish or discolor — they remain vivid against the increasingly warm tone of the aging brass, creating a contrast that deepens beautifully over time.
Where It Works Best
Bathroom (Image 1): Above a towel stack or beside a shower — 4 hooks for bath towels, hand towels, robes, and a bag. The pink or black and white inlay works particularly well against white or terrazzo tile.
Entryway and Moroccan-inspired spaces (Image 2): On a tadelakt, render, or stone wall — the green inlay version reads as authentically Moroccan and entirely at home in a riad-influenced interior.
Mudroom (Image 3): Against painted panelling or a feature wall — the yellow inlay against navy is a statement combination that makes a mudroom feel designed rather than functional.
Dressing room or marble bathroom (Image 4): The black and white inlay against marble is the most graphic and contemporary pairing — striking, clean, and surprisingly versatile.

Care Instructions
Brass rail and hooks: Wipe with a soft dry cloth. The living finish develops naturally over time — no polishing needed unless brightness is preferred. Lemon juice and baking soda paste restores shine if desired.
Inlay panels: Wipe gently with a damp cloth only. Do not use abrasive cleaners or acidic products on the inlay. The panels are set securely but benefit from gentle care.
What to expect: The brass will warm and deepen over months of use. The inlay remains vivid. The contrast between the two becomes more striking — not less — as the brass develops its patina.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I choose the number of hooks?
Yes. This rail is available in 4-hook and 5-hook versions. Select at checkout. Custom lengths with different hook counts are available — contact us with your requirements.
Are the inlay panels fragile?
No. The inlay is set securely within the brass frame and is designed for daily handling. Gentle cleaning with a damp cloth is all that is needed. Avoid abrasive cleaners or acidic products directly on the inlay surface.
Can I order a custom inlay color?
Yes — contact us before ordering with your color preference and we will advise on what is achievable within our workshop's materials range.
Is this suitable for a humid bathroom?
Yes. The solid brass is naturally humidity-resistant and the living finish develops beautifully in a bathroom environment. The inlay panels are not affected by normal bathroom humidity. Avoid direct continuous water spray on the inlay.
How is it fixed to the wall?
The rail fixes to the wall via two countersunk screw holes — one at each end bracket. All fixing hardware is included. The rail is suitable for tile, stone, plasterboard, and solid walls. For tile installation, use a carbide tile drill bit.
